Bonner County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Advisory Council

Bonner County Ordinance 456 directs the establishment of the Bonner County Emergency Medical Services Advisory Council whose primary functions shall be advisory to the BCEMS and the Board of County Commissioners on matters pertaining to the provision of services within the County.

The Bonner County Emergency Medical System is committed to integrity and professionalism, while working as a dedicated team to provide quality patient care in response to the needs of the community.

Through collaboration, accountability, and fiscal responsibility, we shall provide an innovative and proactive response for the present and the future.



Meetings of the Council will be held as needed (ad hoc).  Notice of cancellation of a regularly scheduled meeting or any changes in the date, time, and place of a regular meeting shall be sent to the members at least five days prior to the meeting.  The annual meeting shall be held on a designated day in April and is for receiving reports, electing officers and other business that shall arise. (Idaho Open Meeting Law I.C. 67-2342 and I.C. 67-2343)


Membership on the Council shall be comprised of one (1) representative from each the outlined agencies or organizations serving the public in Bonner County.  The agencies or organization’s governing body or chief executive will appoint a representative to the Council.  Active Members shall be voting members.

Members shall be appointed to their positions for a term of two (2) years.  The Council shall be comprised of one (1) representative from each of the stakeholders organizations serving the public in Bonner County.  After stakeholder group is formed the Chairman of the Advisory Council will initially assign one (1) or two (2) year terms to each of the stakeholders.  It is the responsibility of the Chairman of the Advisory Council to equalize the number of stakeholders to term limits as well as be aware of areas when setting the term limits.  The recommendations and term limits are then forwarded on to the Board of County Commissioners for their approval.
